Ed Obermeyer, retired art teacher and phenomenal acrylic painter, describes his style of painting to his clients.Ed Obermeyer, retired art teacher and phenomenal acrylic painter, describes his style of painting to his clients by saying, "if Vincent Van Gogh were reincarnated as an Aborigine from Australia, was a surfer, and a pinstripe artist, that would be me." With 34 years of service as a retired art teacher, numerous Teacher of the Year awards, and a slew of juried Art Show awards under his belt, Ed is now focused on a journey as a full time professional artist and performer with the same enthusiasm and joy that was such an important part of his teaching career.
Through years of practice, Ed has developed his own signature patterns to create works of art using dark color patterns that develop into lighter patterns at the end of each piece. A black gesso base coat forms the framework for the patterns that he develops with stripers, daggers, swirlers and a host of other custom brush tools.
