SHOWOFF Canopy Featured Artist: Ronetta Krause Handmade, one-of-a-kind jewelry is a blessing rarely bestowed upon our often cookie-cutter world.

Handmade, one-of-a-kind jewelry is a blessing rarely bestowed upon our often cookie-cutter world. Owning a piece of original artwork is a thrill in itself, but also being able to wear it proudly, accepting compliments on our good taste and shopping expertise, is even better. As owner of the Silver Moon Studio in Pennsylvania, Ronetta Krause has been winning awards on the art festival circuit for over 30 years designing and creating amazing jewelry and making all of us her art gallery.

Not only has Ronetta’s jewelry been seen from Ann Arbor to Key West, she’s also a certified Precious Metal Clay instructor. If you’re not hip to what precious metal clay is, you’re not alone. Suffice it to say that it includes a kiln, texture mats and palette knives in its arsenal. And you would need to know the definition of “sintering”. (Wikipedia says: “the process of compacting and forming a solid mass by heat and/or pressure without melting it to the point of liquefaction”, in case you weren’t quite sure.) So this means Ronetta is also an award-winning scientist/chemist (with a little bit of alchemy thrown in for good measure). Along with PMC, Ronetta also works in glass, mixed metals and keaum-boo (applying thin sheets of gold to silver). I am sure spinning gold from straw is no problem for her as well.

The Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair describes her process as including “soldering, forging, etching, and creating texture plates for fine silver”. The Woodlands Water Arts Festival calls her art “wearable sculpture”. SHOWOFF Canopy says: many thanks to Ronetta for using the best art canopy display to present her jewelry!
