SHOWOFF Canopy Featured Artist: Dennis DeBon From the first time lightning struck sand, our civilization has held glass in high esteem for both its practicality as well as its beauty.

From the first time lightning struck sand, our civilization has held glass in high esteem for both its practicality as well as its beauty. The earliest glass on earth created the first sharp tools; but its allure soon evolved into a luxury item. From the stained glass windows in Europe’s Gothic cathedrals, to the Murano artisans creating daily masterpieces from their Venetian studios, we’ve all been enthralled by the endless forms glass can take. The way it plays with light, with reflection – it’s an art form that can seem to physically change as you move past it.

Dennis DeBon's EnergyWebs glass art

St. Petersburg, FL artist Dennis DeBon is the master behind EnergyWebs™, which he says combines glass with color and motion. These amazing pieces are sure to become the focal point in any space they inhabit. If you are lucky enough to see Dennis’ work in person at an art show, you will be treated to an exhibition: a canopy full of EnergyWebs. Dennis also creates glass sculpture, “hand-cut, scalloped, polished, painted, stacked” artwork.

We’re honored Dennis has chosen to showcase his glass art in a Showoff Canopy - known for its ease-of-set-up, strength against strong winds, and performance in wet weather. You can see more of DeBon’s art at his website: energywebs.com.
